Grammy MusiCares Gala!
by Lauren on Feb.18, 2011, under Uncategorized
Hello Everyone! Back from my trip and California was amazing!! I am so grateful to have attended the Grammy’s MusiCares Gala last Friday with my beautiful Peneventure’s Boutique dress and my super chic heels that Icon Shoes made for me! Those shoes were so unbelievable, how cool would it be to have more made with lots of different paintings on them! or handbags?! hah, something to hope for in the future.
The highlight of my night, however, had to be when I walked into the silent auction room and right in the front under the ‘Hot Ticket’ items was my painting! It was listed as the #2 item in the auction, which absolutely just blew my mind. I’ve yet to hear the results of the auction, but the night was so surreal, I got photos with some amazing people…(Tony Bennett and Kristin Chenoweth!!!!!) and had the privilege to hear performances by Lea Michelle, Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Leann Rimes, Barry Manilow, Tony Bennett, BARBRA STREISAND….just to name a few.. wow. What a night I can be sure I will never forget.
Gettin Ready for Grammys
by Lauren on Feb.07, 2011, under Uncategorized
There’s only two days until I leave for LA and Im getting all loose ends tied, shopping done, packing done… but I was having a hard time looking for a place to buy my Grammy Dress! I was so happy to finally find something to wear to the MusiCares Gala only a few days ago. Unfortunately Cleveland is not well known for having a wide variety of shopping, but the last place I checked is a dress/special occasion shop in Rocky River, Ohio called Peneventures (http://www.peneventures.info/index.html) and I found exactly what I needed! (Peneventures is the best place to go for anything formal, I got my prom dress a few years ago from there as well!) For the Gala, I’ll be wearing a creamy beaded/sequined one of a kind cocktail dress by Spenser Hawke and I cant wait, I absolutely am in love with the dress!
I actually haven’t seen the shoes Ill be wearing yet, a very unique shoe company called ICON Shoes is making me a special pair to wear for the Grammys! I get to pick them up today, Ill put up a photo when I do. ICON makes shoes with artwork imprinted on them as the designs! The ones they are making for me will have one of my paintings on them, so I have no idea what parts of the painting they will decide to use, or what to expect! All I know is I’m positive they will be some hot kicks!

Goin to the GRAMMYS!
by Lauren on Feb.04, 2011, under Uncategorized
Hey all! So this past week i got the official ‘yes’ that I am going to be attending the 2011 MusiCares Gala, which is the charity event hosted during Grammy Weekend in Los Angeles at the Staples Center! The MusiCares Gala named Barbra Streisand as their Person of the Year for her artistic accomplishments and her philanthropic work, which she has contributed significantly over the years. In her honor, I created a 36×48 oil painting titled “Barbra” which will be in the MusiCares silent auction to go towards the Grammy’s charitable foundation. Im so excited to be a part of something so incredible and I cant wait to see just who I’m going to meet!

CHRISTMAS TIME my favorite time :)
by Lauren on Dec.28, 2010, under Uncategorized
What a wonderful Christmas, I had so much fun spending time with my friends, my family and receiving the best wishes from the people who worked with me to make my Peace and Harmony monument a reality and the fans who supported it. love everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Loving candles this year! I’ve been living on my own for almost 2 years now and i decided to light my house up for the holidays with tons of candles! When I saw photos and video of the December 8, 2010 John Lennon Peace Vigil in Liverpool around my monument, I saw everyone holding candles in their hands and I thought it was a such a spiritual and beautiful way to reflect and be at peace it to be surrounded by candle light. I may keep it up for the whole year actually
Las Vegas December Show!
by Lauren on Dec.16, 2010, under Uncategorized

Just got home from an art exhibit in Las Vegas, NV, it went so incredibly well and the new patrons I met were the most wonderful people. I also got a chance to go hiking in Red Rock Canyon, outside of Vegas ( in the photo to the right) and it was absolutely amazing! Cant wait to go back in February for my next show!

John Lennon Peace Vigil VIDEO, Liverpool 2010
I recently watched this video and had tears in my eyes. The Peace Vigil was completely beautiful. I couldn’t believe it when I saw all the musicians, the poets, artists and fans who came to remember John, and the way he influenced so much inspiration in their lives. It was amazing. Thank you to everyone who made my ‘Peace and Harmony’ monument a reality. I can only hope people will continue to use my monument not only as a work of art to enjoy, but to bring people together in the most beautiful and positive way like I witnessed on the Peace Vigil video.

Meeting Julian Before the Unveiling!
by Lauren on Oct.22, 2010, under Uncategorized
Before the Unveiling, I met Julian and Cynthia Lennon in the Hilton we were staying at (which happened to over look the monument site!). Julian gave me a hug when we met and i almost got teary eyed, he’s a mirror image of his father and was such a warm person who made me instantly comfortable. This image is what I first saw when we all walked up to the site where the monument was to be unveiled. I was so blown away, I had no idea there where going to be so many people and so much media there!
